2 cups all-purpose flour

½ lb breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled

½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite)

1½ tbsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1 cup buttermilk

1 egg

6 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease or line a 12-cup muffin tin.

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

In another bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.

Add wet ingredients to dry, stirring just until combined.

Fold in sausage and shredded cheese.

Divide batter evenly among muffin cups.

Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool slightly and enjoy warm, or store for later.
